It’s the night before our family Christmas and all through the house…
We hear the hum of the generator!
Here in mid Michigan a severe ice storm has caused many thousands of households to lose power, ours among them. Thankfully, a generator is helping to keep us warm, our food cold, and providing the energy for 4 lamps and 1 television.
Tomorrow we plan to re-route one of the extension cords to power the Christmas tree lights. With no ability to cook, Ed and I took note of the few restaurants that are open while on a foray out earlier today. It looks like cold appetizers and KFC may be on the menu for Christmas dinner!
While we wait for our power to be restored, grateful to all those working so hard to make it happen, I am compelled to acknowledge my faith in a power source that never fails.
“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11
In every way, this has all the makings of a Christmas to remember 🙂
